Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 3 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-03

These Terms explain how you may use Craft Capital. We have written them in plain English where we can. By creating an account or using Craft Capital you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. What Craft Capital is

Craft Capital provides technology that helps Customers discover and engage skilled professionals (“Pros”). It gives Pros tools for public professional profiles, services and portfolios, messaging, quotes, bookings and assessments, projects and jobs, payments, work history, reputation, the Craft Score and, where eligible, access to potential financing opportunities.

Craft Capital is not an employment agency. Pros are not employees of Craft Capital. Pros generally provide their services independently, and the agreement for any job is between the Customer and the Pro.

2. Definitions

  • Customer — a person or organisation seeking services from a Pro.
  • Pro / Professional — a skilled professional offering services through Craft Capital.
  • User — any person using Craft Capital.
  • Platform — Craft Capital's website, applications and related services.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a binding agreement to create an account.

You must give accurate registration information, keep it up to date, choose the correct role (Customer or Pro), and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

You may sign in with email and password or with Google. Some features require phone verification.

You do not need an account to browse public Pro profiles or Find a Pro. A lightweight Customer account is created when you take an action that needs your identity, such as sending a message, requesting a quote, booking, a video assessment, creating a project, submitting a Build Your Team request or making a payment.

4. Pro profiles and public information

Pros choose what to publish. A public profile may include a profile name, photo, profession, services, service areas, About information, availability, portfolio, credentials, reviews and reputation information generated by the Platform. Public profiles can be viewed by anyone, without signing in, and may appear in search engines.

Pros are responsible for making sure the content they upload is accurate, lawful and theirs to share.

5. Portfolio and Verified Work

Portfolio is work a Pro chooses to showcase, including work done outside Craft Capital.

Verified Work is qualifying work whose underlying activity can be confirmed from Craft Capital's own platform records. Uploading an old project to a portfolio does not make it Verified Work.

6. Reviews

Past Client Review: a Pro may invite a limited number of past customers to review work done outside Craft Capital. These reviews are not Verified Reviews, are not proof that the work happened on Craft Capital, and do not create Verified Work.

Verified Review: a review linked to a qualifying Craft Capital job between that Customer and that Pro, available only after the job's payments are settled and no issue is open.

We label review sources so users can tell them apart. You must not post self-reviews or fabricated reviews, pay for misleading reviews, impersonate customers, or otherwise manipulate the review system. We may investigate, hide or remove fraudulent or abusive reviews.

7. Craft AI

Craft AI helps Customers describe a job and find Pros who may be relevant. In the current pilot it works from a structured request, Craft Capital's list of professions and services, known alternative wordings, location data, rules and matching logic. It does not use a generative AI language model.

Results may reflect the requested service, profession, service area, a Pro's travel preference, known availability and relevant platform reputation signals. Craft AI suggestions are assistance, not recommendations or guarantees. You remain responsible for evaluating and choosing a Pro.

8. Location matching and travel

If no Pro serves the exact area you ask for, Craft AI may show nearby Pros, Pros covering a wider area, Pros who have said they are willing to travel, or relevant Pros outside the requested area. These weaker matches are labelled as such.

Pros may say whether they are willing to work outside their usual service areas. Only a preference the Pro has explicitly confirmed is treated as their choice. It may affect matching, but it does not guarantee availability for a particular job or oblige a Pro to accept one. Customers and Pros must confirm dates, location, travel and any travel cost directly with each other.

9. Quotes, negotiation and agreement

A typical job moves from enquiry to conversation, an assessment where needed, a quote, negotiation or revision, acceptance, payment or funding, the job itself, and completion.

A quote is not accepted until the Customer takes the acceptance action on the Platform. A rejected or expired quote creates no obligation to proceed. Changes to an agreed job are made through a Change Order, which the Customer may accept and fund or decline.

10. Payments

Payments are processed through third-party payment and banking providers, currently including Monnify. Craft Capital is not a bank.

Key terms used on the Platform:

  • Payment request — a request from a Pro for a specific amount linked to a job.
  • Job Advance — agreed costs needed before or during a job, such as materials, transport, logistics, equipment rental, mobilisation, permits, consumables, or agreed helper or subcontractor costs. A Job Advance is not automatically the Pro's earnings, and any unused or refundable amount remains subject to the job and payment rules.
  • Pending Release — the part of a Customer's payment intended for the Pro's work, held until the Customer approves the work or an open issue is resolved.
  • Available to Withdraw — funds the Pro may withdraw to a bank account they have verified.

Withdrawals go only to a verified bank account and depend on provider processing. We may delay, decline or reverse a transaction where the law, fraud prevention or our payment providers require it. Craft Capital does not describe these arrangements as escrow.

Pros are responsible for any taxes due on their income.

11. Payment request expiry

Each payment request is valid for 23 hours. After that it may be renewed. This expiry applies to the individual request, not to any dedicated payment account. A payment made after expiry may need to be reconciled. If the Platform shows that a payment is being checked, do not pay again.

12. Dedicated payment accounts

Eligible Pros may receive a dedicated payment account number issued through a regulated third-party financial provider. It forms part of Craft Capital's payment and wallet system. It is not a personal bank account operated by Craft Capital.

13. Verification

Depending on the feature, we may ask for phone verification, identity information, BVN where needed for financial features, and bank or payment-provider verification. Each verification label shows only that the specific check passed.

Verification does not mean Craft Capital guarantees a Pro's workmanship, honesty, qualifications, availability or the outcome of a job.

14. Craft Score

The Craft Score is Craft Capital's own work, reputation and financing-readiness score. It is not a credit bureau score. It is built from qualifying platform activity, such as verified work history, eligible reviews and repayment behaviour, and the factors are shown in the app. The rules may change over time. No particular score guarantees financing.

15. Financing

Any financing may depend on eligibility, verification, the Craft Score and other factors, and may be provided by third-party regulated financial institutions or partners under their own terms, fees, rates and assessment. Financing is never guaranteed, and a Craft Score does not automatically give you a loan.

Before you accept any actual financing, you will be shown the provider's identity, the amount, charges and fees, the repayment schedule, the consequences of late or missed payment, and the other terms required by law. These Terms do not replace a lender's credit agreement.

16. Messaging, calls and video

Users can message each other on Craft Capital. Conversations may include structured records such as quotes, acceptances, payment requests, Change Orders and job events, which form part of the job history.

Users may start audio or video calls from a conversation through our calling provider. Craft Capital does not record calls; a call card showing that a call was started is kept in the chat.

You must not use messaging or calls for harassment, threats, fraud, illegal requests, spam or impersonation.

17. Sunday Mode

On Sundays, new Customer–Pro conversations may be paused until Monday. Existing conversations stay open, active-job coordination can continue, and payment and security functions stay available. Response times and scores are not penalised for Sundays.

18. Job issues and disputes

A Customer may report an issue with completed work. While an issue is open, the related Pending Release funds stay held. The issue can be closed when the Customer marks it resolved or, where appropriate, by Craft Capital, and the held funds are then released to the Pro. We do not promise any particular outcome.

19. Cancellations and refunds

Whether a payment can be refunded depends on the transaction and applicable law. For example, nothing is owed on an unaccepted quote; a funded job that has not started is treated differently from a Job Advance already committed or spent; Pending Release funds are handled under the job and issue rules; and released payments for completed work are generally final. There is no blanket rule that all payments are refundable or non-refundable. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under Nigerian consumer protection law.

20. Customer and Pro responsibilities

Customers and Pros are responsible for agreeing the job scope, arranging property or site access, obtaining permits where needed, supplying any materials the Customer agreed to provide, performing services lawfully, and following applicable safety and professional requirements.

21. Safety, injuries, accidents and property damage

Craft Capital provides technology that helps Customers and independent Pros find one another, communicate, agree work, manage jobs and use related platform services. Unless we expressly state otherwise, Craft Capital does not perform the physical work advertised by Pros and does not control how a Pro carries out a job.

Customers and Pros are responsible for taking reasonable precautions appropriate to the work, including complying with applicable:

  • health and safety requirements
  • building and site rules
  • professional standards
  • permits and approvals
  • equipment-safety requirements
  • protective-equipment requirements

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Craft Capital is not responsible, merely because a Customer and Pro connected through the Platform, for:

  • accidents occurring at a job site
  • personal injury suffered while performing or receiving services
  • death or bodily injury arising from the manner in which independent services are performed
  • damage to property caused during performance of a job
  • loss arising from unsafe tools, materials, equipment or working conditions supplied or controlled by a Customer or Pro
  • injury involving assistants, crew members, subcontractors or other persons engaged for a job

Pros are responsible for deciding whether they are qualified, properly equipped and able to perform a job safely. By sending a quote or accepting a job, a Pro confirms they are responsible for assessing whether they have the skills, tools and safe working conditions required to perform it.

Customers are responsible for providing reasonably safe, lawful access to the job site and for telling the Pro about known hazards that could reasonably affect the work.

Emergencies. Craft Capital is not an emergency-response service. In the event of serious injury, fire, electrocution, gas leak, structural danger, medical emergency or any other immediate safety threat, contact the appropriate emergency service (for example 112) or relevant authority rather than relying on Craft Capital messaging or support.

Independent Pros. Unless an expressly disclosed arrangement says otherwise, Pros operate as independent service providers and are not employees, agents or representatives of Craft Capital merely because they use the Platform. A Pro is responsible for their workmanship, safety practices, tools and equipment, the people they bring onto a job (including crew), and compliance with applicable professional and safety requirements.

Insurance. Where particular work reasonably requires professional, public-liability, workers', vehicle or other insurance, the Pro is responsible for maintaining any insurance required by law or applicable to their business. A Craft Capital profile or verification signal is not confirmation that a Pro carries any insurance policy unless Craft Capital explicitly states that the insurance has been verified.

Verification is not a safety guarantee. Identity verification, reviews, Verified Work, profile information and other Craft Capital trust signals do not guarantee that a job will be accident-free, that a Pro's work will be free from defects, that a site is safe, or that a Pro holds every licence or insurance required for every type of work. We describe a credential or licence as verified only when we have actually verified that specific item.

Reporting serious incidents. Customers and Pros can report a serious safety incident connected with a Craft Capital job from the Help page in their account. Where appropriate, Craft Capital may restrict an account, preserve relevant job, payment and message records, cooperate with lawful investigations and take other platform-safety measures. Reporting an incident does not make Craft Capital the insurer of, or the party responsible for, the underlying physical work.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

22. Prohibited activity

You must not commit fraud, use fake identities, portfolios or reviews, manipulate payments or the Craft Score, try to get around platform security, scrape the Platform or misuse other people's data, harass anyone, offer unlawful goods or services, or infringe intellectual property.

23. Your content

You keep ownership of the original content you upload. You give Craft Capital a non-exclusive licence to host, store, display, technically reproduce, moderate and distribute that content through the Platform, only as needed to operate and promote your profile and services on Craft Capital. Craft Capital owns the Platform, its design and its brand.

24. Suspension and termination

We may temporarily restrict, or in serious cases close, an account for security risk, fraud, serious breaches of these Terms, or legal or regulatory reasons. Where practical we will start with a temporary restriction and explain why. Financial and job records may need to be kept after an account closes.

25. Availability and liability

The Platform may sometimes be unavailable because of maintenance, provider failures, connectivity problems, security events or events beyond our control. We do not promise uninterrupted service.

To the extent Nigerian law allows, Craft Capital is not liable for the quality, safety or legality of work done by Pros, the accuracy of content provided by users, or indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

26. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Platform changes. We will give reasonable notice of material changes on the website or in the app, and by email where appropriate. The date and version at the top show the current revision.

27. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
